Façadism is like playing dress-up with a building! Sometimes old buildings are really special and people want to keep them, but they can't use them the way they were made for. They might be too small or not be in a good location. So instead of knocking the old building down, they take just the outside part called the façade, which is like the building's face or mask. They keep the façade and build a new building behind it, like putting on a new outfit. With façadism, people can save the special look of an old building while still building something new that works better for what they need.
