Fakelore

Fakelore means something that is fake but looks real. It happens when someone makes up a story or folklore that they say is true, but really it's not. Imagine if you made up a story about a monster, and then told your friend it was a real creature that people had seen before. That's kinda like fakelore. It's not true, but you make it seem like it is. Some people might do this to trick others, or maybe just for fun. But it's important to remember that real folklore and stories have a cultural and historical significance, so pretending that something is real when it's not can be disrespectful to the people who really lived those stories.
