A long time ago, there were people in Vietnam called monarchs. Monarchs were like kings and queens who ruled over the land. They had families, just like you and me!
The very first monarch of Vietnam was a man named Hung Vuong. He was like the grandfather of all the monarchs who came after him. He had lots of sons who became monarchs, and they had lots of sons who also became monarchs, and so on and so forth.
As time went on, these monarchs had children, and they also became monarchs! Each new monarch would rule for a while and then pass the power on to their children when they got older.
