Fascist Italy is a period in Italian history that lasted from 1922 to 1943. During this time, the country was controlled by a leader named Benito Mussolini and his political movement called fascism. Fascism is an extreme form of nationalism where a country's leader has complete control over the government and the people. Under Mussolini, anyone who disagreed with him was censored or punished. He also formed an alliance with Adolf Hitler, the German leader during World War II. This allowed Italy to help the German military in its invasion of other countries, and ultimately resulted in the death of millions of people.
