Fayolism

Fayolism is a type of management theory. It was developed by a French industrialist named Henri Fayol who was trying to figure out how an organization could work more efficiently. He looked at how things were run in businesses in his day and tried to create a system of organizing work. This system consists of five main parts which are: Division of Work, Authority, Discipline, Unity of Command, and Unity of Direction. Division of Work means that each worker should be responsible for a certain task and have the skills needed to complete that task. Authority means that there should be a clear leader with the power to make decisions. Discipline means that workers should be expected to follow guidelines and rules. Unity of Command means that there should be one boss for every worker. Finally, Unity of Direction means that everyone should be working together towards the same goal. Together, these five principles make Fayolism a useful tool for managers who want to make sure their organization is run smoothly and efficiently.
