ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fear of the elderly

Okay, so imagine you're walking down the street and you see an old person. You might feel a little scared or nervous, right? But why is that?

Sometimes, people are scared of elderly people because they look different from younger people. They might be wrinkly, have gray hair, or walk more slowly. When we see things that are different from what we're used to, it can make us feel uncomfortable or even scared.

Another reason some people might be scared of elderly people is because they seem fragile or like they need a lot of help. This can make us worry that we might accidentally hurt them or do something wrong.

But here's the thing: just because someone is old doesn't mean they can't be kind, funny, or interesting. In fact, many elderly people have a lot of wisdom and life experience that they can share with us. It's important to remember that we should treat all people with kindness and respect, no matter how old they are.
