Federal Indian Policy

So the federal Indian policy is how the government takes care of Native American people. A long time ago, the government made a bunch of promises to tribes, like giving them land to live on and taking care of them. But sometimes the government didn't keep their promises and took away land and even tried to get rid of Native Americans altogether!

Nowadays, the federal government has laws to help protect Native American people and their communities. They try to work with them and give them resources to help with things like education, healthcare, and land preservation.

It's like a grown-up taking care of their little brother or sister. The grown-up has a responsibility to make sure the little one is safe and has what they need to grow up healthy and strong. The federal government has a responsibility to take care of Native American people and help them thrive.
