ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is a group of people who make sure that trucks and buses are driven safely. They want to make sure that everyone who is on the road is safe, including the people who drive trucks and buses, and the other drivers who are sharing the road with them.

Basically, they make sure that the people who drive big trucks and buses are doing it safely and following rules that are meant to keep everyone safe. They check to make sure that the people who drive these big vehicles have the right training and licenses, and that the vehicles are in good working condition.

For example, they might check the tires and brakes to make sure they are working properly. The people who work for this organization also make rules and regulations that these drivers and vehicles have to follow. They also investigate accidents and try to figure out what went wrong so they can work to prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.

All of this work is really important because big trucks and buses can be really dangerous if they aren't driven and maintained properly. So the people who work for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are like the grown-ups who help make sure that everyone is safe when they're driving on the road.
