Feral parakeets in Great Britain

Okay, imagine there are these colorful birds called parakeets that live all around the world. Some of these parakeets were brought over to Great Britain a long, long time ago and they were kept as pets by people.

But then, some of the parakeets flew the coop and found themselves living outside in the wild. They had to fend for themselves and find their own food and shelter. These parakeets are now called "feral" parakeets, which just means they live in the wild without being taken care of by humans.

Over time, these feral parakeets grew in number and now there are thousands of them in Great Britain, living in places like parks and gardens. They are known for their bright green feathers and squawking calls.

Some people think these parakeets are really cool and fun to watch, but others worry that they might be causing problems for the other birds and animals that live in Great Britain. Scientists are still trying to figure out what impact these feral parakeets are having on the environment, but for now, they just keep on flying and squawking like they always have!
