ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Festival of History

Okay kiddo, so the festival of history is kind of like a big show where people dress up in old clothes and pretend to be from different time periods. You know how you like to play dress-up and pretend to be a superhero or a princess? Well these people do that too, but with history.

They have different areas set up that look like old towns or castles or even battlefields. You can walk around and meet the people who are dressed up and they will tell you all about what life was like back then.

You might see someone dressed up like a knight with armor and a sword or someone wearing a big poofy dress like from a fairy tale. It's really cool because you can see what people used to wear and how they used to live.

There are also shows where people reenact important events from history, like battles or famous speeches. You can watch them and learn more about what happened in the past.

Overall, the festival of history is a fun and educational way to learn more about the past and how people used to live. Plus, you get to see some really cool costumes and displays!
