Fingerpost

Have you ever gone to a new place and didn't know where to go? Well, sometimes people put up signs called fingerposts to help you.

A fingerpost is a tall pole, kind of like a big stick, with lots of signs pointing in different directions. Imagine a really large signpost, just like the ones you see on the street, but with many arrows on it. These arrows help people know which way to go.

For example, if you were walking on a nature trail, you might come across a fingerpost. The fingerpost would have arrows pointing in different directions telling you which way to go for things like a waterfall or a scenic overlook.

Fingerposts are important because they help people find their way when they're lost, and they help people get to where they're trying to go. So the next time you're out and about and see a fingerpost, be sure to take a look and see if it's pointing you in the right direction.
