Hey there kiddo, let me tell you about the Finnish War.
So, a long time ago, in 1941, Finland was a country located in the Northern part of Europe. The country was next to the Soviet Union, which was a very big country. The leader of the Soviet Union, named Joseph Stalin, wanted to take control of Finland and make it a part of his country.
But Finland didn't want to be a part of the Soviet Union, they wanted to be an independent country. So, the two countries fought a war.
The Finnish army was very brave and fought hard against the Soviet army. They used the cold weather to their advantage and were very good at skiing, which helped them move around quickly. But the Soviet army was much larger and had more resources, such as tanks and airplanes.
After many months of fighting, the Soviet Union eventually won the war and Finland had to give up some of its land to the Soviet Union. But Finland was still able to remain an independent country and has stayed that way ever since.
So, even though they didn't win the war, the Finnish people were very proud of their bravery and their country's independence.
