When there's a fire, you should try to get an adult to help you use the fire extinguisher. They will first pull out the safety pin that is keeping the extinguisher from accidentally going off. Then they will aim the extinguisher at the base of the flames, and press down on the handle.

This will release the extinguishing agent in a big spray, and smother the fire so that it can't burn anymore. But remember, fire extinguishers are really powerful and not toys, so always get an adult to help you use it.
