Firefighting

Firefighting is when people (firefighters) work together to put out fires and keep people safe. Fires can be caused by things like stoves, candles, matches, or electrical things in our homes, so it is very important to be careful with them. Firefighters wear special suits to protect them from the heat and smoke when they go into a burning building. They carry special tools like hoses to put water on the fire, and axes to break down doors so they can get in to the building. They also carry oxygen tanks and special masks so that they can breathe even in a lot of smoke. Firefighters also make sure that everybody is out of the burning building before they put out the fire.
