A robot is a machine that looks like a person or animal and can do things on its own. Robots can be programmed to do certain tasks like sweeping floors or talking to people. They are made out of metal and use computers and sensors to control them. People can use robots to do jobs that would be too difficult or dangerous for humans to do.
