ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Firefox version history

Firefox is like a toy car that lets you visit the internet. The people who make Firefox like to make it better, so they try new things and fix any problems they find. When they make something new or fix something, they give it a number to remember what they did.

For example, when they first made Firefox, they called it version 1. Then they made some changes and called it version 2. Then they made even more changes and called it version 3, and so on.

Sometimes, they make really big changes, like making the car faster or adding new buttons to make it easier for you to use. When they do this, they give it a bigger number, like version 50, so you know it’s a really big change.

When you look at the version history of Firefox, you can see all the numbers for every version they’ve made, and what changes they made for each one. This helps you understand what new things Firefox can do, and how it’s gotten better over time.
