Fireless locomotive

A fireless locomotive is a type of train engine that runs on electricity instead of burning fuel, like coal or diesel. Inside the locomotive is a big container filled with a special kind of liquid called "superheated steam". This steam is made from a process called "heat exchange", where water inside the container is heated up to a very high temperature by a separate source of heat, usually a big electric boiler. The superheated steam stored in the locomotive container is then used to power the engine, instead of the burning fuel. It is a very efficient way of running a train, because all the energy used to power the locomotive comes from the electric boiler.
