Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a group of people called the Turkic people. They lived in a place called Central Asia, which is like a big playground with lots of different countries.
The Turkic people didn't have a leader to tell them what to do and where to go. So, one day they decided to choose a big boss for themselves. This big boss was called the Khagan. The Khagan was like a king or a president, but he had lots of power and everyone had to listen to him.
The very first Turkic Khaganate was formed when a Khagan named Bumin was chosen by the Turkic people. Bumin was a great leader who was strong and clever. He taught his people how to make strong weapons and how to ride horses, which were very important skills for their survival.
Bumin also thought it was important for his people to have a cool name, so he called them the "Göktürks" which means "Celestial Turks" because they believed in the power of the sky and the heavens.
Under Bumin's leadership, the Göktürks grew very big and powerful. They fought against their enemies and won many battles. They even made friends with some other groups, like the Sogdians, who were really good at trading and making things.
The first Turkic Khaganate lasted for over 200 years and had many different Khagans who were all very powerful leaders. They built big cities, like Suyab and Balasagun, and they even made a big wall to protect their land.
Eventually, the Turkic people split into different groups and the first Turkic Khaganate came to an end. But the legacy of Bumin and the Göktürks lived on, and their contribution to history is still remembered today.
