Fish kill

Okay kiddo, a fish kill is when a lot of fish suddenly die in a certain area. You know how we need air to breathe? Well, fish need a certain amount of oxygen in the water to breathe. Sometimes, something happens to the water that takes away the oxygen or puts something in it that makes it hard for the fish to breathe. This can be caused by things like pollution, algae blooms, or changes in the weather. When this happens, a lot of fish can die at once. It's really sad to see, but scientists and people who take care of the environment work hard to prevent fish kills from happening.
