Flagellation

Flagellation is a kind of punishment or self-discipline where you hit or whip yourself as a way to show that you are sorry or sorry for something you did wrong. Sometimes people tie a rope or belt around their waist and whip or hit themselves with it. It is usually done either as a punishment or as a way to show your faith or devotion to a religion.
