ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Flat function

A flat function is like a ruler. When you put a ruler on a flat surface, it stays at the same height all the way across. That means it's not going up or down.

A flat function is like that - it doesn't go up or down, it stays the same level. It always gives you the same output, no matter what input you put into it.

So, if you imagine a graph with a flat line, the line is always straight across and doesn't go up or down. That's what a flat function is - it's like a straight line that doesn't change.
