Flat glass

Have you ever looked through a window or seen a mirror? They are made of something called flat glass! Flat glass is a special material that is flat and transparent, which means you can see through it.

Flat glass is made by heating up sand until it melts and then pouring it onto a flat surface to cool down. This process is called "float glass" because the liquid glass floats on top of a bed of molten tin while it cools down.

Once the flat glass has cooled, it can be cut into different shapes and sizes to make windows, mirrors, and other things we use every day. This is done by using special machines that cut the glass into the right size and shape.

Flat glass is very strong and durable, but it can still break if it is hit hard enough. That's why we have to be careful around it and avoid throwing things or hitting it with objects.

Overall, flat glass is an important material that we use every day to make windows, mirrors, and other objects that help us see and stay safe!
