Flat-panel display

A flat-panel display is a way to show pictures, movies, and other images without the need for a bulky, heavy monitor or television. It’s like a big screen that is very thin and lightweight.

Inside the flat-panel display are tiny little of lights, called pixels, that create the images. These pixels are made up of small colored dots, with each dot being a tiny bit of red, green, or blue color. When these dots combine, they make all other colors in the image.

The most common types of flat-panel displays are LED and LCD. An LED (light-emitting diode) display uses tiny lightbulbs to create the images, while an LCD (liquid crystal display) uses a special liquid that can change color when an electric current is passed through it.

You might see flat-panel displays used in lots of places, like on your computer, tablet, or phone. They’re also used for big screens in places like sports stadiums, movie theaters, and concerts.

Overall, flat-panel displays are awesome because they let us see images in really great detail without being super heavy or bulky.
