Flipper pie

Okay kiddo, a flipper pie is a dish that is made from the tail of a fish called Atlantic cod. The fish's tail is cut into small pieces and mixed with other yummy ingredients like potatoes, onions, and seasonings, and then baked in a pie crust.

See, in some places like Newfoundland, Canada, people have been fishing Atlantic cod for a really long time, and by tradition, they use almost every part of the fish to avoid wasting it. That includes using the tail to make this delicious pie.

So, when you eat flipper pie, you're enjoying a tasty meal made from a part of a fish that might otherwise be thrown away. Pretty cool, right? Just make sure to chew carefully, because some people say that the bones in the tail can be a bit tricky to eat!
