Float (liquid level)

When you pour water or soda into a cup, the level of the liquid inside the cup can either be high or low. The term "float" describes when the level of the liquid in the cup is at a specific height - not too high and not too low.

A float works by sitting on top of the liquid in a container, like a little boat floating on the water in a bathtub. The float can be made of different materials, but some are made of foam or plastic.

As the level of the liquid in the container changes, the float will move up or down, depending on whether the liquid is filling up or being emptied out. The float helps measure how much liquid is in the container by moving up or down with the level of the liquid.

So when you see a float in a container, you can tell if there is a lot or just a little bit of liquid inside by how high or low the float is sitting. And that's how floats help measure liquid levels.
