ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Floating car data

Floating car data is when a car drives around with special equipment that tracks things like how fast it's going, what route it took, and even the temperature outside. This data can then be used to figure out things like where traffic jams are located and what roads are in bad shape. It's kind of like having many extra eyes on the roads that can help people figure out how to get around better.
