ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Flooding (computer networking)

Flooding is a way that computers in a network can share information quickly and easily. When a computer sends a message to the network, that message is sent to all other computers on the network. Every computer then looks at the message and decides what to do with it. For example, if the message is from your friend and you want to respond, you will send a reply back to your friend. Flooding makes it easy for computers to communicate with each other because it sends the message to all computers at the same time, instead of sending it just to one computer.
