Fly fishing is a super fun way to catch fish using a special type of fishing rod and line called a fly rod and fly line. Instead of using boring old worms or minnows, fly fishermen use something called a "fly" which is a tiny fake bug or insect made out of materials like feathers, fur, and thread.
When catching a fish with a fly, the fisherman throws the line out onto the water by making a special "cast" with the rod. Then, they move the fly around in the water to make it look like a real bug, which tricks the fish into thinking it's a yummy snack. Once the fish bites the fly, the fisherman uses the rod to reel in the line and the fish.
Fly fishing is a really cool way to connect with nature and it's really important to only catch what you need so that the fish can continue to thrive and be caught for years to come.
