Forced labor in Germany during World War II

In World War II, Germany was a country ruled by Nazi leaders. Nazi forced people who were not German to work in German factories and farms without pay. These people were called “forced laborers”. Forced laborers were usually taken from other countries that the Nazis had invaded. The Nazis also used some forced labor from people living in Germany, such as Jews and people with disabilities. Forced laborers had to do hard work, like mining and farming, without rest and without enough food or clothing to stay warm. They often were treated very harshly, and some even died of exhaustion or illness while they were forced to work.
