Forced labor of Germans after World War II

After World War II ended in 1945, Germany was divided into two countries and it was very damaged from the war. So the people of Germany had to work very hard to repair things and rebuild their cities. To help with this, some of the countries that had won the war forced a lot of German people to work for them against their will - this is called forced labor. This type of labor was done without being paid and it lasted until 1949.
