Forced labor of Hungarians in the Soviet Union

Okay, so imagine you're playing with your toys and someone bigger and stronger than you comes along and takes them away. You don't have a choice and you have to do what they say or else they will hurt you.

Well, a long time ago, some people from the Soviet Union came to Hungary and did something like that. They took Hungarian people away from their homes and families and made them work in Russia for a very long time. This is called "forced labor" because they had no choice but to work.

The Hungarian people who were taken away had to do things like build roads, factories and other things for the Soviet Union. They had to work long hours and often didn't get paid very much. They had to live in bad conditions and were treated very badly by their Russian bosses.

Many people didn't want to leave their homes and families, but they were forced to do so anyway. This was a very sad and unfair thing to happen to the Hungarian people.

Thankfully, this doesn't happen anymore and everyone is free to live where they want and do what they want without someone else forcing them.
