Foreign affairs of the Jefferson administration

Ok kiddo, so you know how we live in our house and sometimes we visit our neighbors’ houses to play with them? Similarly, the Jefferson Administration had to deal with other countries and how they interacted with them. Jefferson was the leader of our country during a time when America was relatively new and had not yet made friends with all the other countries. So, he had to make sure that we got along with other nations and that they would not try to harm us. The Jefferson Administration had to make important decisions about how to talk to other countries and how to protect America’s interests. They also had to trade with other countries to get things we need, like tea or spices. They had to make sure that Americans were safe and that we didn’t go to war unless it was necessary. It was a really big job and Jefferson worked very hard to make sure everything went smoothly.
