ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Forged (book)

Okay kiddo, have you ever played with clay or playdough and made a little figure or shape? Imagine someone doing that, but with words instead of clay. That's what writing a book is like.

But imagine if someone else took that book and changed some of the words or even made up totally new parts of the story. That's what it means to "forge" a book. It's like if someone took your playdough creation and smashed it up or turned it into a different shape without asking you.

Sometimes people do this with books because they want to make money by pretending they wrote the book themselves. That's not okay because it's like telling a big lie.

So, if someone says they "forged" a book, it means they faked it by pretending to be the author when they weren't really the one who wrote the original story. It's a type of cheating and it's not fair to the real author or the people who read the book expecting it to be real.
