Fort Laramie
Fort Laramie was a big house built a long time ago in a place called Wyoming. It was made to keep people safe when they traveled on the Oregon Trail, which was a big road that went from one side of the country to the other.
People who were traveling on the road would stop at Fort Laramie to rest, get food, and maybe trade things with each other. Some people even lived at the fort and helped take care of it.
But, there were some problems at the fort. Sometimes, different groups of people didn't get along and would fight. The people who ran the fort had to make rules to keep everyone safe and make sure everyone was treated fairly.
Eventually, the fort became a really important place. People from lots of different countries, like France and Russia, started visiting the fort to talk to the people who were already there.
Nowadays, Fort Laramie is a really old and cool place you can visit to learn about what life was like a long time ago. You can see the big house, the old things people used, and even dress up in clothes like the people who used to live there!
