ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Francis Frith

Okay kiddo, so Francis Frith was a man who lived a long time ago, in the 1800s. He liked taking pictures of places around the world, especially in Egypt and other faraway places.

He took pictures of important buildings and beautiful landscapes, and sometimes he even took pictures of people! Can you imagine what it was like to take pictures back then, when they didn't have phones or digital cameras?

Anyway, after he took all these pictures, he decided to make them into little books for other people to see. The books were called "Frith's Egypt" or "Frith's England," depending on where the pictures were taken.

People loved these books because they got to see what places looked like a long, long time ago. It was like a time machine that let them travel back in time and see things that weren't there anymore.

Today, we still have a lot of Francis Frith's pictures, and people still love to look at them and learn about history. So that's who Francis Frith was, and why he was important. Did that help you understand, kiddo?
