Francis Rogallo

Okay, so have you ever seen a kite flying in the sky? Well, a man named Francis Rogallo invented something kind of like a kite but it's shaped differently. Instead of being a diamond shape like a regular kite, it's more like a triangle.

This triangle shaped thing is called a Rogallo wing (named after the inventor, Francis Rogallo). It's made out of light material like fabric and it's really easy to fold up and carry around.

People use Rogallo wings for a lot of different things. Scientists use them to study the air and how it moves. Some people fly Rogallo wings for fun or even as a sport called hang gliding.
