Freckles

Freckles are small brown spots that some people have on their skin. They are kind of like tiny little stickers that get stuck on your face or arms. They are caused by something called melanin. Melanin is a special substance that makes our skin darker when we are in the sun.

Freckles happen when some people have more melanin in certain spots on their skin than other people. It's kind of like if someone puts a little too much paint on one part of a picture.

Most people think freckles are cute, but some people don't like them. Either way, they are a natural part of our skin and don't hurt or cause any problems.
