French Australians

Okay sweetie, so do you remember the country of France? It’s over in Europe and they speak French there. Well, a long time ago, some people from France decided to move all the way down to the bottom of the world to a place called Australia.

Those people from France are called French Australians. They might look and sound like Australians, but they also have a special connection to France. Sometimes they speak the French language and eat French food like croissants and baguettes.

French Australians are just like any other Australians, they have different jobs and hobbies, they go to school, and love spending time with their families and friends. But they also like to celebrate their French heritage by having special events and festivals that showcase their culture, like Bastille Day.

So, if you ever meet a French Australian, make sure to say “Bonjour” (that means hello in French) to make them feel welcome!
