French India

Okay, so a long time ago, some people from France wanted to set up a place to trade and make money in a faraway land called India. So, they built some towns and started to buy and sell things there. This area of land that the French controlled was called French India.

Just like how your parents tell you what you can and can't do in your own house, the French were in charge of what happened in French India. They even had their own laws and ways of doing things, different from the Indian people who lived around them.

But then, a lot of other countries like England also wanted to have a piece of the India trading pie. They started to take over some areas of India that were controlled by the French, and eventually, the French had to give up their control over French India too. Now, it's all part of India and the French don't have any special control over it anymore. But we can still learn about its history and the different cultures that used to be there.
