ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fresnel transform

Imagine you have a flashlight and you shine it on a wall. The light will create a pattern on the wall. Now, let's say you want to take a picture of that pattern. However, the pattern isn't flat, it has bumps and dips in it. This makes it harder to take a picture of it.

This is where the fresnel transform comes in. It helps us take a better picture of patterns that have bumps and dips in them, like the pattern on the wall.

The fresnel transform is a way to change the pattern of light that we see. It takes the light pattern that has bumps and dips and changes it into a new pattern that is easier to photograph. It's like putting on glasses that make things easier to see.

The fresnel transform is used in many different fields, like physics and optics. Scientists use it to study things like the way sound and light waves move through water or how light interacts with materials like glass and metal.

Even though the fresnel transform may seem complicated, it's really just a way of making things easier to see and understand.
