ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Front projection effect

Have you ever watched a movie or a show where they project an image onto a big white screen? That's called "front projection". It's kind of like someone shining a big flashlight onto a wall so that you can see a picture, but way better because it's a lot brighter and clearer.

When they do front projection in a movie or a show, they use a special machine called a projector to shine the image onto the screen. It's like a big camera that takes the picture and then makes it bigger and brighter so that lots of people can see it at the same time.

One really cool thing about front projection is that you can make it look like the people in the movie or show are actually standing in front of the screen! That's called a "front projection effect". The projector is set up in a way that makes it look like the image is part of the environment, so it looks like the people are really there when they're just on the screen.

It's kind of like you're looking into a picture frame, but the picture is moving and it looks like it's actually there in front of you! That's why front projection is so cool and why they use it in lots of different movies and shows.
