Front-engine, front-wheel drive layout

Imagine that you have a toy car, and you want to make it go forward. You put a motor in the front of the car, and you connect it to the wheels in the front too. Now, when you turn the motor on, the wheels in the front start spinning, and the car moves forward.

Now, imagine that you have a real car. If it's a front-engine, front-wheel drive car, that means that the motor is in the front of the car just like in the toy car, and it's connected to the wheels in the front too. This design helps the car get good traction (that means it doesn't slip and slide around as much) because the weight of the engine is over the front wheels.

Because the engine is in the front and connected to the front wheels, it can be a little harder to turn the car than with some other designs. But it's good for cars that are used for driving around town or on roads, because it helps them stay on the road better and be easier to control. And that's how a front-engine, front-wheel drive layout works!
