Funding science means giving money to scientists so they can do their research. Scientists need money to buy the things they need to do experiments, like lab equipment and tools. Scientists also need money to go to conferences and do experiments in different places. The people who give money to fund science are usually governments and large companies. Governments usually give money because they want to help the country develop new technologies and make the people's lives better. Large companies give money to scientists so the company can get new ideas for products and services that can help the company make more money.
