Fungi in art

Hey kiddo! Do you know what fungi are? They are tiny living things that are a bit like plants but not really. They like to grow in dark, damp places and you might have seen them growing on old bread, cheese or even in your garden!

Now, in art, some artists like to use fungi to make really cool pictures! They put different types of fungi on paper or other surfaces and then let them grow in a way that looks pretty. They add different colors and patterns to make it even more beautiful.

Sometimes, they even use fungi as a type of paint! They crush up the fungi and mix it with other things like water, oil or vinegar. Then they use a paintbrush or their fingers to spread the fungi paint onto their canvas. It might seem a little bit gross but it can make some really cool and unique art.

Fungi can also inspire artists to create artwork that looks like different types of fungi. They might create sculptures or paintings that look like mushrooms, for example.

Overall, fungi in art can be a really fun and interesting way to make some amazing artwork!
