ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Funnel analysis

Okay, imagine you have a funnel, like the one you use to pour milk into your cereal bowl. Now imagine you have a website or an app that people use. The funnel is like the path that people take when they interact with your website or app.

The top of the funnel is where people first start. This is where they land on your site or open up your app. As they move down the funnel, they engage with your content or take actions like filling out a form or making a purchase. Some people will drop off at each step of the funnel, and that's okay.

"Funnel analysis" is when you look at the data of how many people start at the top of your funnel and how many continue down to the end. You can see how many people drop off at each step and try to figure out why.

For example, if you notice that a lot of people drop off on the second step, you might want to look at that specific page and see if something is confusing or if it's taking too long to load. This analysis can help you make changes to your website or app to improve the overall experience for your users and hopefully increase the number of people who complete your desired action at the end of the funnel.
