Okay kiddo, so there are these things called GRBs. They're like huge explosions that happen really far away in space. They're so bright and powerful, they can be seen from really far away.
One of these explosions happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. It was called GRB 090423. Scientists found out about it because they saw a bright flash of light, like a really bright star, in the sky.
Scientists studied this explosion a lot to try and figure out what caused it. They used big telescopes to look at the light from the explosion and to measure how it changed over time. They found out that it was caused by two stars that crashed into each other really fast. Isn't that cool?
GRBs are still a bit of a mystery, but we are learning more about them all the time. And who knows, maybe one day you'll become a scientist who studies them too!
