Gabion

Gabion, like a giant metal basket, is a structure that is filled with large and small rocks or gravel. It is like a cage, except much bigger and stronger. Gabions are often used in construction projects to prevent erosion, as retaining walls or barrier walls, and even in landscaping.

Imagine you are building a sandcastle on the beach, but the waves of the ocean keep breaking down the walls of the castle. To prevent this from happening, you place a bunch of small rocks around the castle, forming a barrier that holds the sandcastle together. This is kind of like how a gabion works, except instead of just small rocks, a gabion is filled with big rocks too.

Gabions are very helpful because they are strong, durable, and can withstand a lot of pressure. They are often used in places where there is a lot of water, such as near rivers or streams. Additionally, they are relatively quick and easy to install, making them a popular choice in many construction projects.
