Gaida

Alright kiddo, have you ever heard someone playing some music on a long, skinny instrument that makes a loud, high-pitched sound? That instrument is called a gaida!

A gaida is a type of bagpipe that's been around for a very long time, even before you were born! People have been playing the gaida for centuries in countries like Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria.

So, how does it work? The gaida has three main parts: the bag, the chanter, and the drones. First, the player blows into the bag to fill it up with air. Then, they squeeze the bag with their arm to push the air out. This makes the air flow through the chanter and the drones, which are the small pipes that stick out from the main one.

The chanter is the part of the gaida that makes the melody. It has holes that the player covers up with their fingers to make different notes. Meanwhile, the drones just constantly play a single note in the background to add some extra sound.
