Galalith

Galalith is a special type of plastic that was invented a long time ago, around 1893. It is made from a natural substance called casein, which is found in milk.

So, when the cow gives milk, we can take the casein out by curdling the milk and separating the solid part. After that, we grind it into little pieces and mix them with a liquid that helps them stick together. This mixture is then heated up and formed into different shapes and sizes, like buttons, combs, and jewelry.

Galalith is very strong and durable, which means it's hard to break or damage. It also comes in different colors, so you can make things that are pretty and colorful. People used to use galalith a lot in the past for things like jewelry, buttons, and even chess pieces, but now there are other types of plastics that are more common.
