Galiot

A galiot is a type of boat that people used a long time ago to travel on the water. It's like a big boat but not as big as some of the huge ships you might see today. It was usually made of wood and had a flat bottom so it could float in shallow water.

A galiot had a sail on it so the wind could push it along. The person driving the boat, called the captain, would use a rudder to steer it in the right direction. Sometimes, there were also oars that the crew would use to paddle if the wind wasn't strong enough.

People use galiots for different things like fishing, transportation, and for trading goods with other people. They could carry a lot of things because the boat had a big open space inside that people could put things in.

Nowadays, people don't use galiots as much because we have bigger and faster boats that can carry even more things. However, some people still like to make and use galiots because they're very beautiful and remind us of a time long ago when people had to rely on boats to get around.
